September 2020 Check-in

It's September 2020 and this year has been nothing like I expected. The corona-virus pandemic is still ongoing, and it's slowed most of the writing plans I had for the year. But after not being able to write a word for most of the year, I had a breakthrough and was finally able to start writing again at the beginning of September. So the current plan is to begin publishing Book 1 of my new Urban Fantasy series September or October 2021. I wish I could say more about it, but I'm still in the early stages of writing Book 1 and don't want to post anything about it yet.

As for my existing series, The Conscious Dreamer Series, the trilogy is complete and available for everywhere ebooks are sold. I'm proud of this series, and I look forward to being able to write more in this world one day. Here's a photo of all of the books in the series. Mid Year Check-In

Well, it's July 20th and I've decided to let you know how much (or little) progress I've made toward accomplishing my goals for 2018. Good news, I finished writing Book 3 of The Conscious Dreamer Series.

YAY!

It's currently with the editor for the final editing pass. Once I get it back from her, I'll be making changes and getting a cover created as I rush to get it published. I'm shooting for an August date, but could also see it slipping into September depending on how much rewriting I have to do.

As for my audiobooks, the audiobook for The Heaviness of Knowing is taking longer than I was expecting. So, I most likely will only get one produced this year. I'm okay with this, though I still plan to move forward with creating audiobooks for the other two books in the series.

Instead of writing another novella for my current series, I've decided to write a novella and Book 1 for my next series. Previously I said I was struggling to decide between two ideas. Well I've made up my mind and I'm now working on outlining at least three novels for the series. I'll start writing Book 1 and a prequel novella later this year, with 12/31/18 as my expected completion date for them both.

And that's my update. All in all, I'm pretty happy with my progress. While I would have loved to have audiobooks for all of my novels this year, it just isn't possible. And, though I was sad to write The End for Book 3, I think I've written enough in that world. For now. But who knows when one of the characters may barge their way into my conscious mind and force me to write their story.

2018 Writing and Publishing Plans

It's the start of a New Year, and I've been thinking about what I want to accomplish as an author over the next 11 1/2 months. So to hold myself accountable, I'm announcing my 2018 To Do List to the world. Here goes:

• I will write and publish Book 3 of The Conscious Dreamer Series, the final book of this series.
• I will produce audio books for The Heaviness of Knowing, Book 1, The Peril of Knowing, Book 2, and The Yet to Be Name, Book 3.
• I will write one more shorter novella for Stories of The Conscious Dreamer Series.
• I will begin writing Book 1 of my next series. I have ideas for at least two different series floating around in my head and I haven't totally decided which should be next.

And that's my 2018 To Do List! I'll make sure to give an update on how I'm doing some time in late June or early July.
